Belarusian Anastasia Orel wins silver at 2026 European Modern Pentathlon Championships

Belarusian Anastasia Orel became the silver medalist at the 2026 European Modern Pentathlon Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.

After three events (fencing, obstacle course, and swimming), Orel had the highest score, two points ahead of Ilke Ozuyaksel. The two athletes entered the final fifth shooting stage together; the Turkish athlete completed the shooting faster and maintained her lead during the final laser-run lap. Orel finished second, five seconds behind. The bronze medal was won by Hungary's Blanka Guzi.
