Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated Vladimir Putin and all Russians on Russia Day.

The Russian Federation, he said, is a confident, advanced state and one of the leading powers with strong economic and defense potential, a guarantor of a fair world order amid global transformation.

"Belarusians have always walked hand in hand with Russians along a centuries-long heroic path. The memory of overcoming trials together, of shared achievements and victories, is passed from generation to generation. It is precisely the time-tested Belarusian-Russian friendship that provides inexhaustible energy for the further harmonious development of our fraternal countries and peoples," Lukashenko stated.

He wished Vladimir Putin strong health and outstanding achievements for the sake of the Motherland, and wished the citizens of Russia happiness and prosperity.

Congratulatory messages from the President of Belarus were also sent to the Chairman of the Government of Russia, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Union State Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviенко, and Chairman of the State Duma, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia Vyacheslav Volodin.
