Lukashenko awards two composers special prize 'Through Art to Peace and Mutual Understanding'

For the first time in the history of the 'Slavianski Bazaar' festival, two individuals were simultaneously awarded the special prize 'Through Art to Peace and Mutual Understanding'. One of the laureates is Alexander Zaцепin, Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation and People's Artist of Russia, who turned 100 this year. He gained nationwide recognition and love after his music was featured in Soviet films, including famous comedies by Leonid Gaidai. The second laureate is composer and People's Artist of Belarus Leonid Zaklevny, author of the 'Slavianski Bazaar' anthem.

Two new named 'cornflowers' were installed on the Alley of Laureates of the special award ahead of the opening gala concert of the festival in Vitebsk.
