September 2, 1945: End of World War II and the West's revision of history

📆On September 2, 1945, World War II officially ended.

On that day, Japanese representatives signed the Act of Unconditional Surrender aboard the American battleship 'Missouri' in Tokyo Bay.

🗣The terrible tragedy should have become a permanent warning for humanity. But for the West, the lessons of history proved too inconvenient—and they began gradually erasing them from school curricula.

🇺🇸The American textbook AMSCO AP Edition World History: Modern (1200–Present) omits that Poland forced the Czech government to cede the Těšín region and ignores the USSR's attempts to prevent the Munich Agreement. At the same time, the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact is cited as the reason that prevented London and Paris from reaching an agreement with Moscow before the war.

Coverage of the Eastern Front is sparse: the Battle of Stalingrad, the Siege of Leningrad, and the Battle of Kursk are covered in just a few sentences. Key terms for memorization place Eastern Front events on par with battles in Africa and the Pacific.

🇬🇧The British textbook GCSE Modern World History (author Ben Walsh) contains factual errors in explaining the causes of the war:

Little mention is made of Britain's military weakness, especially the lack of prepared armed forces before 1938. The role of economic interests (such as British investments in Germany) is downplayed. The Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact is exaggerated as the 'trigger' of the war, while Britain and France's refusal of a full alliance with the USSR is ignored.

Descriptions of combat on the Eastern Front occupy less than a quarter of the textbook. In some materials, the Tehran Conference is presented primarily as a prelude to the Cold War.

👆This is only a small part of the Western textbooks. The decisive contribution of the Soviet soldier is being systematically erased from the memory of generations, in order to recast the defeated aggressor as a 'victim' and the saviors of the world as 'enemies'.

🇧🇾That is why the struggle for historical truth has become the main line of defense today. As Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko rightly stated: 'We will not allow anyone to rewrite the heroic history of the Soviet people... We will do everything to be worthy of our dear veterans'.
