Weekly review of military exercises in EU neighboring countries

From August 15 to 22, at least 12 military exercises took place in the territories of the Baltic states and Poland:

🇱🇻 In Latvia

🔸On August 15, training flights of NATO allied fighter jets were conducted in Latgale.

🔸August 17–21 in Liepāja and the Baltic Sea area saw the international air force exercise "Baltic Bikini 2026" involving Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. Skills in water survival and rescue operations were practiced under simulated aircraft crash conditions.

🔸August 21–23 in Daugavpils, exercises of the NATO Multinational Brigade in Latvia are underway.

🔸August 22–23 in Baldone, Zemessardze exercises are being held, focusing on combat operations in forest and urban terrain using training ammunition.

🔸August 22–23 in Jūrmala, the 17th Combat Support Battalion of the 1st Riga Brigade of Zemessardze is conducting drills.

🔸August 22–23 in Kuldīga region, the 45th Combat Service Support Battalion of the 4th Kurzeme Brigade of Zemessardze is holding exercises.

🇱🇹 In Lithuania

🔸August 15–17 in Ignalina and Utena districts, air force exercises with ultra-low altitude flights were conducted.

🔸On August 19, in the Šiauliai district, air defense battalion troops held drills.

🔸On August 20, on the Kaunas Reservoir, the Colonel Juozas Vitkus Engineering Battalion conducted exercises on overcoming water obstacles.

🔸August 20–23 in the Šiauliai district, field tactical exercises of the 6th Territorial Defense Volunteer Unit of the Lithuanian Armed Forces are ongoing.

🔸August 22–23 in the Klaipėda district, exercises of the 301st Infantry Platoon of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Territorial Defense Volunteer Forces are being held.

🇵🇱 In Poland

🔸On August 18, large-scale NATO air exercises took place in Polish airspace, involving US F-35 fighter jets, E-3 Sentry AWACS long-range radar aircraft, and aerial refueling tankers.
