Lukashenko signs EAEU agreement

On January 5, President Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree approving, as a basis for negotiations, a draft Agreement on a service enabling the search for information on industrial property objects protected in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The international treaty establishes the procedure for creating a service within the EAEU for searching information on industrial property objects (trademarks, service marks, geographical indications, and appellations of origin of goods). The system will operate on the official EAEU portal and provide free public access.

According to representatives of Belarus, implementing this document will contribute to enhanced protection of rights to industrial property objects. The Government of the Republic of Belarus is authorized to conduct negotiations on the agreement draft and its signing.
