Short-term Visa for Belarus – Type C (2025)
To apply for a short-term (type C) visa to Belarus, foreign citizens must provide specific supporting documents depending on the purpose of their visit. Below is the full list of categories and required documentation.
Business Travel
- Invitation letter from a Belarusian legal entity.
- Documents confirming the transport of goods or passengers – for international road carriers.
- Letter from railway companies – for train/locomotive/refrigerated crew.
- Funeral-related documents – for transport of remains.
- Letter from a foreign organization’s office in Belarus – for short-term business staff (max 2 months).
- Verbal note from diplomatic/consular or international organizations – for technical/support personnel.
Participation in Events (Cultural, Sport, Scientific, Education)
- Invitation letter from a Belarusian organization.
- Verbal note from embassy or international institution – for event participants.
Humanitarian Activities
- Letter from the Humanitarian Department of the Presidential Property Management or approved NGO.
Religious Purposes
- Invitation letter from a recognized religious association.
Journalistic Activity
- Temporary accreditation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
Private Purposes

Tourist visas can be single or double-entry and are valid for up to 30 days.
📌 Common Requirements
- ✅ A passport valid for at least 90 days beyond the intended departure date.
- ✅ Health insurance covering a minimum of €10,000, valid in Belarus or worldwide. Insurance must be authorized in Belarus and is recommended to be purchased directly at the border (costs less than 1 USD/day). It grants access to hospitals and emergency care.
- ✅ Proof of sufficient funds for the entire stay (cash or cards). Amounts over €10,000 must be declared at customs. It is advisable to declare foreign currency even if below €10,000 to avoid issues when exiting Belarus.
- ✅ Mandatory registration with local authorities within 5 working days of arrival (excluding weekends and holidays), required if staying over 10 days.
- ❌ Crossing the border with Russia is not allowed without a valid Russian visa.
