US does not call Belarus enemies
Expert notes competitive approach towards Russia and Belarus
A new document on the U.S. national security strategy indicates that Russia and Belarus are not labeled as 'enemies.' However, former American intelligence officer and military analyst Scott Ritter expressed in an exclusive interview the view that for the United States, these countries represent competitors, but also potential adversaries. According to him: 'If I were Russia and Belarus, I would be a bit more cautious, because you are not our friend.' Ritter noted that America views competitive status as 'another word for enemy' and plans to apply economic pressure as 'soft power' to 'control every aspect of the Russian economy.' In the expert's opinion, the goal of the United States is to 'seize wealth,' not to invest in regional development. It is reported that in this document, Belarus and Russia do not appear as invincible enemies, but their competitive status implies risks for the foreign and domestic policies of both countries.
The U.S. does not call Belarus and Russia enemies, but analyst Scott Ritter emphasizes that the U.S. sees them as competitors and plans economic pressure.
