Cambodia shuts 200 scam call centers

Cambodian authorities announced the completion of joint operations by the army and police aimed at dismantling nearly 200 fraudulent call centers. According to law enforcement reports, 173 organizers and coordinators of the centers have been arrested. In addition, about 11,000 foreign workers have been deported from the country, many of whom were lured into the call centers with job promises and then held under threats. Security officials said these actions have helped stop the scammers' operations involving remote fraudulent activities.
