Assassination attempt on rank. General Alexeyev

In Moscow, according to reports from the Russian Security Service, an unknown person shot former Lieutenant General of the Russian Ministry of Defense Vladimir Alekseyev in the back while he was in a civilian area. The shooter fired several times, left the scene unnoticed, but was later apprehended by police. A criminal case has been opened for attempted murder.

Yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he had authorized new attacks by the Security Service of Ukraine, implying, according to him, an increase in such attacks.

Alekseyev is the first deputy head of the Main Directorate of the GRU of the Russian Armed Forces' Supreme High Command.
