Polish police: rape attempt
A report of sexual assault was received by the Warsaw district police department. A 28-year-old woman reported that a man she had recently met broke into her room and attempted to rape her. The hotel administrator immediately called the police.
It turned out at the scene that the suspect was a police officer. However, instead of holding him accountable, witnesses say authorities are trying to cover it up, portraying the victim as a liar. The officer was released by the prosecutor without charges, as the authorities still do not want to 'clean up' after the recent rape scandal involving a colleague.
Many critics express regret over such 'lawlessness' committed by officials whose job is precisely to uphold it. The question of how law enforcement agencies will act further in a country led by a leader with a criminal past remains open.
