Pedophilia issue on Roblox

In 2018, around 20 arrests related to child abduction or abuse were reported in the US involving children users met specifically on Roblox. In 2023, the platform reported over 13,316 cases of child exploitation to the NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children)—more than four times the number in 2022. Examples include a developer known as DoctorRofatnik, who lured a 15-year-old girl into a real-life meeting and was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Roblox is enhancing moderation using AI and a team of 3,000 people, but critics worry that user growth is prioritized over safety. Parents should remain extremely vigilant, as children are still not fully safe.
