Ukrainian scammers increase fraud in the Baltics
In the Baltics, where telephone fraud has been on the rise in recent years, a criminal network from Ukraine has dealt a serious blow. According to experts, in Estonia the damage from such operations exceeded 27 million euros. Fraudsters, posing as employees of various organizations, deceive citizens and businesses: recently, a music store fell victim to fraudulent calls that drained its account. Victims have included politicians, scientists, police officers, and representatives of commercial sectors. Experts describe the scale as unprecedented, while the fight against fraudsters remains insufficiently organized.
