Johnny Depp as Master and Margarita

Actor Johnny Depp will show interest in the role of the Master and emerge from the curtains as producer of the first English-language film adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov's novel 'The Master and Margarita'. The creation of the film should start at the end of 2026, and Depp promises to invest a whole team of specialists in the project to pay special attention to the atmosphere and character traits. The exact budget, location sites and shooting schedules are currently in the stage of coordination, but it is assumed that the work will be carried out both in the USA and in studios in Moscow. The film is being developed in order to attract an international audience to Bulgakov's creativity and open a new view on the famous novel.

Context

Bulgakov's work was previously adapted for cinema in 1966 and in 2013-2015, but this version will be the first full English-language version.
