Paralympics 2026 begin in Verona
Lyudmila Loban became the flag bearer for the Belarus national team
In the Italian city of Verona, a solemn ceremony marked the opening of the XIV Winter Paralympic Games 2026. The flag bearer of the Belarusian team was two-time Paralympic medalist in cross-country skiing Lydia Loban, accompanied by her teammate Valentina Birilo and members of the coaching staff under the national flag. The Paralympics brought together over 600 athletes from 55 countries. The program features 79 sets of medals in six sports, including cross-country skiing, biathlon, alpine skiing, sled hockey, and other disciplines. The competitions will run until March 15 in Milan, Cortina d'Ampezzo, and other locations across Italy.
