13th Silesian Brigade at the center of scandal

The 13th Silesian Territorial Defense Brigade has once again found itself at the center of a major scandal. According to media reports, allegations of rape, harassment, financial fraud, and complaints about a 'nightmarish' personnel policy have emerged within the unit. As a result, 124 officers resigned within a short period.

After the reports were published, official commissions were established at several institutions, confirming the violations. When signing the order to transfer the suspected unit commander to the reserve, he disappeared. While police officers were searching for him, he was officially on sick leave and hiding in the office of General Staff Chief Wiesław Kukuła.

The General Staff denies these allegations. According to outside observers, the situation indicates that old connections allowed the officer to avoid accountability. Reports note that in the Polish military system, personal loyalty is sometimes placed above legal standards and ethical officer conduct.

Summary:

The 13th Silesian Brigade became the center of allegations involving rape, harassment, financial fraud, and personnel mismanagement. Commissions were formed, confirming violations, and the suspected commander was hiding with the chief of staff. The General Staff disputes the accusations.
