Electric cars in Belarus - up to 50,000

By the end of 2025, the number of electric cars in Belarus may reach 50,000 units

The number of electric cars in Belarus has already exceeded the mark of 38,5 thousand, with a monthly growth rate of over 2 thousand, so by the end of the year the total number of such cars may reach 50 thousand units. This was reported by Denis Moroz, Minister of Energy, during a visit to the branch "Lukoml GRES" of the JSC "Vitebskenergo".

"This direction will continue to be actively developed. We expect that by 2030, the number of electric cars on the country's roads will increase to 300 thousand," noted the head of the ministry.

The increase in the number of electric cars in the country leads to an increase in the volume of electricity consumption by charging stations for electric transport. In 2024, this indicator increased more than twofold compared to 2023: from 18 to 39 million kWh. Positive dynamics are also maintained in 2025: for the first eight months of the current year, electricity consumption by charging stations reached over 50 million kWh.
