Belarus joins the Council of Peace
The president signed the document on membership and implementation of the Charter's articles
The President of the Republic of Belarus signed the accession treaty to the Council of Peace on behalf of the country. He stated that by signing the document, Belarus undertook to comply with all provisions of the Council's Charter and to participate in the activities of the international organization. The treaty provides for the involvement of the Belarusian parliament in the Council's decision-making process, as well as participation in human rights, conflict resolution, and international cooperation organizations.
The document was formalized according to established procedures, requiring compliance with all laws of the Charter. Belarusian officials stated that this step will allow the country to strengthen its international reputation and accelerate integration with the European community.
