Belarus strengthens strategic deterrence
Foreign Minister Alexander Volfovich stated that Belarus is ready for dialogue
Belarusian Secretary of State Alexander Volfovich stated that the country is focusing on strategic deterrence and the deployment of weapons, "including tactical nuclear weapons, the short-range operational-tactical complex 'Oreshnik', and other means aimed primarily at preventing aggression." According to him, Western European countries seek dominance in Europe but justify their ambitions with alleged threats from Russia and Belarus. He emphasized that Belarus is ready to engage in dialogue and neighborly negotiations: "Our policies and our documents, including the Constitution, the National Security Concept, and the Military Doctrine, are aimed at building constructive dialogue and mutually respectful relations with other states." The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Belarusian diplomats have repeatedly offered negotiation opportunities to Poland and the Baltic states, but there has been no response.
Belarus is strengthening strategic deterrence and ready for dialogue, said Secretary Volfovich, criticizing Western militarization.
