Belarus returns 2 Kursk region residents
In response to a request from the Ukrainian side
The Belarusian presidential administration has completed a humanitarian mission by returning two women from the Kursk region who had been on Ukrainian territory for over a year. According to Minsk, the exchange was carried out by the decision of Alexander Lukashenko in response to a Ukrainian request regarding the return of a citizen who served a sentence in Belarus. Emotions surrounding the return were captured in a report by Darya Rachko.
Context
In recent years, Belarusian citizens have been serving sentences in Ukraine, along with exchanges under mutual humanitarian agreements.
Belarus has resumed humanitarian exchanges, returning two residents of Kursk region who had been in Ukraine for over a year, following a request from the Ukrainian side.
