Belarusians call for volunteering
In the interview, Belarusian society was called upon to actively participate in improving their neighborhoods. According to Olga Shpilevskaya, director of the Belarus office of the MRTC 'Mir', people used to criticize municipal workers, but now there is a desire 'to take a shovel and help' instead of just 'paying taxes' and waiting for solutions from officials. The author emphasizes a change in civic behavior: citizens are now more willing to personally contribute to maintaining infrastructure rather than merely discussing problems in chat groups. This reflects how societal attitudes toward shared responsibility for urban order are changing.
