Bloggers accused of fraud
The funds collected were used for personal expenses
In a high-profile case uncovered in 2025, a 17-year-old resident of Grodno and his 37-year-old partner organized a fundraising campaign, claiming the money would be used for charitable aid to a young boy with Duchenne-Becker muscular dystrophy. According to sources, over 1.5 million Belarusian rubles were transferred to their accounts, which, as participants confirmed, were spent on restaurants, new clothes, premium cars, elite housing, and overseas trips. During the investigation, it emerged that, apart from losses related to the 'charity,' the accumulated funds ultimately suffered a loss of more than 100,000 rubles. According to the blogger, he apparently did not realize the scale of his actions. The story gained widespread attention on social media, where these actions are being discussed under the hashtag #UnderThePresidentsControl.
