Belarus power system ready for cold

In anticipation of a sharp cold snap, the Belarusian power system has declared a state of readiness capable of ensuring heat and electricity in every home and enterprise without prolonged outages. The presidential administration emphasized: "Preventive measures + lightning-fast response." Reactive steps include full control over heat production and distribution to end consumers, backup of key network lines and nodes, and 690 mobile teams on full combat alert, ready to respond instantly to any emergency. Diesel generators have been deployed at critical facilities and for backup power supply to the population. The goal: to guarantee reliable energy supply under extreme frost conditions.

Context

Since 2019, the government has been strengthening infrastructure to combat power outages and has already implemented measures to back up critical lines.
