Gomel ready for bad weather: boilers and

According to Ivan Krupko, chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, the region is prepared for extreme weather situations. Currently, there are three mobile boiler units in the Gomel region, and this year a new pellet-based boiler unit has been added in the Kalinkovichi district. In case of boiler failure, a legal supply of heating is ensured: each mobile boiler unit can be quickly relocated by a special housing and utilities team.

Moreover, more than half of the enterprises in the utilities, agricultural, and social sectors already have operational diesel generators providing backup power. The minimum fuel reserve is about 35 liters, which allows maintaining energy supply in case of a main line outage.

Thus, the Gomel region uses dual power sources—mobile boiler units and diesel generators—to minimize risks associated with adverse weather.

Context

Since 2023, measures have been introduced in the Gomel region to increase resilience to extreme winter weather by modernizing boiler units and installing backup generators.

Summary:

Gomel Region strengthens heating and power supply systems: mobile boiler houses and diesel generators are ready to respond to adverse weather.
