During a detailed report by the Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee to President Lukashenko on January 7, information was provided about the region's condition due to heavy snowfalls and an approaching cyclone. According to the official, there were no emergencies in the Gomel region, temperatures were around 6–8 °C below zero, and roads and access routes to social facilities were clear and accessible.

It was announced that exercises using special equipment would be conducted on January 8–9, as well as the ongoing work of 169 utility, energy, and emergency services teams to address potential consequences.
