The president received the report and issued new instructions
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko received a report from the Chairman of the State Security Committee (KGB) Ivan Tertel. The report covered the activities of intelligence and counterintelligence divisions, as well as the situation in the country ahead of Christmas and New Year holidays. Lukashenko instructed to keep all ongoing processes under control to ensure reliable security.
Also discussed was the continuation of cooperation between Belarusian and American intelligence services, including issues of humanitarian aid in the Russia-Ukraine conflict and new U.S. proposals on the disruptive negotiation track. The situation at the border with Lithuania was noted, including incidents with air balloons. The Belarusian side stated its readiness to conduct constructive talks and assist in matters of border cooperation.
The report paid special attention to Belarusian-Polish relations: Tertel added information about contacts with Polish intelligence services and rapid steps towards resolving common issues between the countries. The President approved the necessary further instructions.
