Volozhin Flax Mill refused major acquisition due to lack of gas line
The Volozhin Linen Combine planned to modernize its boiler house by purchasing a new gas boiler. Specialists from the inter-district control department of the State Control Committee (SCC) discovered that the gas connection point was located 300 meters from the boiler house, and that project documentation and expert conclusions were missing. As a result, the State Control Committee recommended cancelling the purchase to avoid spending budget funds on equipment that could not be installed. The plant director acknowledged the SCC's intervention as a rescue and emphasized that such inspections protect every penny of the budget.
