Lukashenko: discussed issue with governors
The president noted growth in agricultural indicators
At a meeting with the leadership of the Council of Ministers, President Alexander Lukashenko raised the issue of livestock mortality, a key indicator in agriculture. He noted that even in the Grodno Region, where indicators are among the best in the country, the mortality rate has significantly increased.
"You've added almost a thousand heads compared to last year in January. I'll hold you accountable," the president warned Yuri Karayev, chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, adding that the situation with mortality is even worse in some regions.
Lukashenko also drew attention to the Mogilev Region, where regional head Anatoly Isachenko presented a report on mortality. The president posed a rhetorical question: "Isachenko says we'll level it out over the year. How can we level it out if a thousand have already died? How can this possibly be leveled?" He then clarified: "Either you guys aren't hearing me, or you're just tired of working."
