VAT, investment deduction, and charging infrastructure until 2028
On December 11, 2024, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree amending Decree No. 92 of March 12, 2020, "On Stimulating the Use of Electric Vehicles." The document extends VAT benefits and investment deductions for electric vehicles until December 31, 2028, and grants indefinite preferences for the construction and maintenance of charging stations. The Republican Unitary Enterprise "Beltelecom" has been appointed as the second operator responsible for installing and maintaining slow charging stations with a power of up to 44 kW. Developers are allowed to transfer charging stations and electrical network facilities to state operators free of charge. At the same time, the decree cancels the right to free parking for road users who own electric vehicles.
Lukashenko extended tax benefits and infrastructure preferences for electric vehicles until 2028, appointed "Beltelecom" as the operator of charging stations, and canceled free parking for electric vehicles.
