Lukashenko: Belarus defends peace
The president spoke about the country's position on conflicts
During a meeting with the Iranian ambassador to Belarus, Ali Reza Sanei, President Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus has always adhered to peace. According to the head of state, the conflict in the region 'will bring no benefit,' and war is 'unacceptable for the country because Belarus has suffered repeatedly from past wars.' He noted that war is 'principally unacceptable' as it causes particularly severe damage in the epicenters of conflicts, to which Belarus belongs. The meeting with the ambassador was described as 'not symbolic,' and Lukashenko reiterated that Belarus still will not participate in military schemes in the region.
