Lukashenko: EAEU to pass to Kazakhstan in 2026
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced that in 2026 the chairmanship of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will pass to Kazakhstan. He emphasized that Belarus assumed leadership of the union this year. "We will ensure a smooth transition so that the further development of the union is coordinated with all members," Lukashenko stated. In response to a question about future steps, he noted that in 2025 Belarus will continue to play an active role in the EAEU, supporting integration processes in the region.
