Lukashenko: Science as a key to development
"No science, no progress" – the president's words
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said during a press conference that there can be no development without science. He stated, "As for our science, I won't say that we are decaying from a scientific standpoint, but what it gives us, especially in applied fields, is extremely insufficient." "We need to shake up the National Academy of Sciences," he emphasized, calling for reforms. This statement became part of the discussion on reforms within the academic community and the country's science policy.
Lukashenko focused on the limitations of domestic science and the need to reform the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
