Lukashenko appoints Hora as prosecutor general
After the change of the Supreme Court chairman
On December 19, 2023, at the second session of the Seventh All-Belarusian People's Assembly, former head of the prosecution authorities Andrei Shved was elected Chairman of the Supreme Court. After his appointment, President Alexander Lukashenko appointed Dmitry Gorа as Prosecutor General, thus filling the vacant position in the country's strengthened legal apparatus.
Context
The action follows the historic moment of December 19, when new leaders began working in the Supreme Court, as well as the prosecution reform as part of strengthening state structures.
President Lukashenko appointed a new prosecutor general, Dzmitry Hora, after Andrei Shved moved to the post of Chairman of the Supreme Court.
