Lukashenko appoints new prosecutor general

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has appointed Dmitry Gora as the country's Prosecutor General. Gora previously held the position of deputy prosecutor and led important legal projects. The new appointment is part of the reform of the judicial system.

Judges and human rights activists expect the new prosecutor to strengthen legality and the independence of the judiciary.
