Lukashenko on 'Belarusian' McDonald's

The president announced the creation of a domestic fast-food network

President Alexander Lukashenko said in a live broadcast that 'McDonald's should be no worse than the American one, but Belarusian.' He noted that a network of 'Belarusian' McDonald's had opened in Belarus and emphasized that 'nobody can bake your little bun.' According to the expert working on the project, 'everything is ours except for some little bun that you still can't bake.' Lukashenko stressed pride in the fact that 'this is ours' and called for introducing 'our own bun' into the menu so that 'everything will be fine.' The Prime Minister shifted focus to the readiness of Belarusian production to compete with foreign brands and to assert the quality of domestic products.
