Lukashenko on inflation: problem 106.8%
According to President Alexander Lukashenko, inflation is the 'number one issue' worrying citizens. He noted that 'they might catch the government as if everything is fine,' but in reality, prices rose by 106.8% against a target of 105%. Lukashenko reminded that the Belstat assessment is 'the average temperature in the hospital' and emphasized that prices for many goods sensitive to ordinary people have increased much more significantly. He stated, 'people eat products, not statistics,' and called for stricter price controls and fairer pricing.
