Lukashenko declares 2026 Year of the Woman
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 1, declaring 2026 the Year of the Belarusian Woman. The aim of the decree is to shape the national image of the working woman and to promote her role in preserving and developing society.
The decree instructs the government, together with public associations and the Minsk City Public Committee, to develop and approve a republican plan of events for the observance of the Year of the Belarusian Woman in 2026. The government will also coordinate the activities of state bodies and other organizations in implementing this plan.
The decree will come into force after its official publication.
Lukashenko has designated 2026 as the Year of the Belarusian Woman, calling for strengthening women's role in society.
