Lukashenko grants amnesty to 123 people

Yesterday, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced the pardon of 123 people convicted under the Law of the Republic of Belarus for committing crimes of various nature—espionage, terrorist, and extremist activities. According to the president, this measure was decided within the framework of legal clemency and aims to mitigate punishment for those suspected of political crimes. It is reported that new terms and conditions of proceedings will be introduced within the legal process. There is no official confirmation from authorities yet, but this decision is considered final.
