Lukashenko: "Oreshnik" is Belarusian part

The rocket is entirely domestic; withdrawal from placement in Slutsk

President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated that the 'Oreshnik' missile system is predominantly of Belarusian production. According to him, the only Russian component of the system is the missile itself, while all other equipment is manufactured locally. He also denied reports about the deployment of 'Oreshnik' in Slutsk, stating: 'We have not deployed the Oreshnik in any Slutsk. This is complete nonsense.' The production capacity used for the 'Oreshnik' launcher equals the working capacity of half the country. In the coming years, Belarus is expected to receive an upgraded version of the system called 'Polonez'.

Context

'Oreshnik' is a portable missile system developed jointly by Russia and Belarus, using a Russian modular system as its missile.

Summary:

Lukashenko confirmed domestic production of "Oreshnik" systems, rejected reports about their deployment in Slutsk, and announced plans for the commissioning of "Polonez".
