Lukashenko signs decree on financing
Sources of funding for fixed asset expenditures are changing
On December 16, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree "On Regulation of Banking Activities". According to the document, the composition of funding sources for banks' expenditures on acquisition and modernization of fixed assets has been changed: now these sources include funds formed from profits remaining at banks' disposal after payment of taxes and other mandatory payments to budgets. Regarding foreign loans, the decree explicitly excludes them from the sources for acquiring and modernizing fixed equipment.
Internally, the decree establishes the procedure for creating and using funds formed from profits, and the procedure for their operation is determined by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus. The decree brings into effect amendments to the previous valid document and declares Decree No. 271 of May 15, 2008, as invalid.
