The decree strengthens control over domestic automotive transportation

On January 22, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree improving the operation of customs authorities. According to the decree, customs control bodies now have the right to verify, within internal customs clearance points, whether foreign carriers possess the required permits, known as "dazvoly," for traveling across the country's territory. Previously, road transport control was conducted only at the border. The new procedure is said to enhance the effectiveness of monitoring international road transport in Belarus.
