Lukashenko signs decree on conscription and reserve

President Alexander Lukashenko has signed a decree on discharge into reserve and call-up for compulsory military service, as well as reserve service. The decree establishes the procedure for discharging military personnel, outlines the conditions for conscription into compulsory service, and defines the criteria and duration of reserve service. According to the new document, military personnel in reserve may be called up if necessary to strengthen the armed forces. At the same time, the conscription rules provide for the possibility of alternative civilian service for certain categories of the population.
