Lukashenko signed lottery law
The decree regulates electronic instant lotteries
On February 20, Russian President Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree on improving lottery activities, amending the previous document No. 209 of May 4, 2007. According to the new law, participation in electronic instant lotteries is prohibited for individuals under 18 years of age and for persons restricted from visiting gambling establishments. Banks are required to deny such individuals operations related to payment of lottery bets, and payments to gaming accounts must be made only electronically.
Context
Earlier in 2007, Decree No. 209 was adopted, regulating gambling activities, which is now being amended.
The president signed a decree banning minors from participating in electronic lotteries and introducing new requirements for payment of bets.
