Lukashenko calls to strengthen prosecutorial power

President Alexander Lukashenko said in his speech that the prosecutor's office should become a "real headquarters" and take over a number of powers currently assigned to the Security Council staff. He stressed the importance of not forgetting the role of the Prosecutor General and how strengthening prosecutorial functions will help effectively combat corruption. Lukashenko mentioned former Prosecutor General Andrei Shveda, highlighting his contribution to the reforms of the prosecutor's office. He stated that enhancing the powers of the prosecutor's office will become a priority for the government.
