Minsk opens new addiction center

The City Clinical Narcological Center is now operational

The city clinical narcological center was opened in Minsk. Representatives of the head of state in the city attended the opening ceremony, including Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, and Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov. Among the guests were also Vladimir Kukharev, Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Yuri Frolov, Assistant to the President – Inspector for the city of Minsk, Mikhail Gryb, Head of the Capital's Main Directorate of Internal Affairs, and Artem Tsuran, Chairman of the Minsk City Council of Deputies.

Context

The Ministry of Health is enhancing access to medical services for addiction treatment, while the city previously had limited opportunities for treating drug addiction.
