Ministry of Communications: unlimited with a limit from 2026
Plans to limit heavy users to maintain connection quality
The Ministry of Communications of Belarus announced that starting in 2026, all unlimited internet plans will have a guaranteed limit of 30 GB per month at full speed. After exceeding this amount, connection speed will be reduced to 1 Mbps. The purpose of this measure is to balance traffic consumption and improve communication quality for the majority of subscribers.
Mr. Kirill Zalesky, Minister of Communications, noted that these changes will affect less than 15% of subscribers, who are estimated to use an excessively large amount of data. According to him, this will help relieve network load and ensure fast and comfortable internet access for over 85% of users.
Currently, the average monthly data consumption per subscriber is about 16–20 GB, and the cost of unlimited plans ranges from 20 to 40 BYN. Tariffs have remained unchanged since 2022 and are not planned to be revised in 2026.
