Belarusian Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov, reporting to the president, noted that the operational situation in the country during the holidays was rightly considered calm and remains under control. According to him, the president constantly monitors this issue, as confirmed by his statements: 'I reported on January 1 on the operational situation... and on ensuring public order during the New Year holidays and specifically on New Year's night.' Furthermore, the interior minister pointed out that during the New Year holidays, there were five murders and 14 serious bodily injuries. He said that the number of murders in the first eight days of January reached five, which, although lower than last year, still represents the loss of five human lives.
