New sports funding order in
Government subsidies and tax incentives for clubs and federations
The National Olympic Committee (NOC) announced a new system for financing sports federations and clubs in Belarus. This refers to Presidential Decree No. 337, 'On Support for Sports Organizations,' which replaces the previous document, Decree No. 191, under which the sector had been operating financially. Sports organizations will now be able to receive state subsidies that guarantee core financial support.
According to statements by Alexander Baraulia, Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism, the new document provides a reliable financial calendar covering the material and technical base, equipment purchases, and salaries. Additional mechanisms, including minor tax benefits, are provided to enable clubs and federations to earn money independently, attract sponsors, and develop.
The seminar was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Petkevich, NOC President Viktor Lukashenko, and Minister of Sports and Tourism Sergei Kovalchuk.
