Education in Minsk schools continues
Despite temperatures dropping below 25°C, school classes continued
Today, more than 50,000 students arrived at schools in Minsk, and classes were not canceled. According to Olga Smirnova, deputy chairperson of the education committee of the Minsk regional executive committee, the thermometer dropped below -25°C in the morning, but the weather remained windless. Educational institutions are located practically within walking distance from students' homes, which allowed classes to continue. Smirnova noted that although parents were allowed to keep their children at home, school authorities decided not to hold outdoor physical education and healthy lifestyle classes, suggesting instead to move them indoors to sports facilities and halls.
