Belarus Defense Ministry: the complex is strategic deterrence

Viktor Khrenin, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, announced that the deployment of the 'Oreshnik' system in the country will not change the balance of forces in Europe. According to the head of the military department, more than half of the system delivered to Belarus was manufactured in Belarus, with the main production base located at the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant.

Khrenin emphasized that the purpose of the 'Oreshnik' is strategic deterrence and response to aggressive actions. He stated that in the event of an attack on Belarus, the enemy would suffer unacceptable damage.

The minister also highlighted openness to dialogue, stating: 'We do not intend to fight with you; it is important for us to conduct negotiations and restore previous relations with our neighbors.'

According to official statements, the delivery of the system to Belarus will not affect the balance of forces in Europe and is part of efforts to strengthen national security.
